As a lighting designer for hundreds of high school, college, community theater and regional productions over the past 20 years, I cherish the “aha” moments when a performer siezes a role and commands the attention of everyone in the audience. Lyndsay Ricketson channels just such a performance in Geva’s Next to Normal – fierce, don’t take-your-eyes-off-her stuff. This is the best performance I’ve seen in years; it stands out in an extremely well-directed production. Thank you.
